Welcome to the Comfort Lake - Forest Lake Watershed District
The Comfort Lake - Forest Lake Watershed District (CLFLWD) encompasses roughly 49 square miles in northern Washington County and southern Chisago County, including the Cities of Chisago City, Forest Lake, Scandia, and Wyoming. The watershed outlets to the northwest to the Sunrise River, which flows northeast through Chisago County before discharging to the St. Croix River.
Volunteer Opportunity: Storm Drain Stenciling
Did you know that the majority of storm drains you see on the street dump directly into our local lakes without any filters or treatment? This means that all the litter, leaves, and dirt we so often see clogging storm drains in the spring and fall end up directly in our lakes!
Join us this spring for your chance to make a difference and keep our waters clean! Volunteers will be working with District staff and local Watershed Stewards to clean off storm drains and raise awareness through stenciling.
Volunteers will receive a free breakfast and t-shirt. All supplies provided.
